I have a truck intake, any benefits of porting it? Whats the biggest throttle body that you can fit on those?
Can those intakes accept bigger injectors?

Well which truck intake do you have ? There are 3 different types..... old style 3 bolt , NNBS 4 bolt and L92 style.

Yes that intake can be ported and improved . Do you have good fab skills and tools ? Are you open to using another oem truck intake ? Or set on using this only. 5.3 or 6.0

 

Its a 5.3. I'm not dead set on this one. Just figured I'd see what I could do with this one since I already had it. But I was looking and like the BBK and the LS6 intakes are around the 300 dollar range, so i figured if I could do something with this one, I would.

 

Im not suggesting you switch to a car intake . The truck platform is good if you have the hood clearance.

 

Yes, its going in my 70 Nova, I kind of wanted something that looked a little better like the Holley Mid rise.

 

What heads oem 706/862 or aftermarket ? Its best to do as a combo. I can tell you how to do a full port on the intake if you like .

Ported 862 or 243 would be good . Ok here is the mild version, you can open the tb snout up . Stock its only 74 mm you can take it 78mm its a long log or barrel about 7" long then the roof opens up. Concentrate your work here .

 

You can also clean the runners up . But if your not running cnc heads ,its best just leave the runners alone . Stock width is 1" don't go bigger than this. A full ported truck intake will out perform a LS6 intake.
