Default Engine Replacement

I have an 2006 Dodge Charger R/T 5.7L . I was driving and car shut off. Car started up and made a loud rattling noise and smoke out of the tail pipe. Drive it to my local Dodge dealer and they tell me I have no compression. I need an engine replacement. I was wondering would State Farm cover the repairs or is there a recall on this issue.

You're on the wrong site buddy. This is LS1tech, you have a Dodge.

That being said, probably not. Reach out to your insurance company.

Might be best to switch over to a GM Product.

This is normal for most Dodge products after Warranty expires. Typically, the transmissions fail before the engines have issues but both are prone to failure due to poor quality control.

Normally, insurance companies do not cover mechanical repairs or maintenance.

The best fix is dispose of dodge and replace it with a GM product.

Remember on a quiet night that sound you hear isn't crickets it's a mopar rusting away in the summer breeze.

On a serious note, I'd make sure the dealer in question has a good reputation as an honest dealer. A few dealers over state issues to attempt to force trade it. A local Toyota dealer in Gastonia N.C. was notorious for that practice. They listed almost $2,800 of suspension repairs for my old Camry once and the suspension didn't have any issues - as confirmed by another honest shop.
