Default 2 LS6 intakes, what to do???

So to make a long story short I acquired an LS6 intake and now realized my 02 SS already has one. Should I sell them both and get a fast 92 or send one to peak and have it and the TB ported?? I have SE 1 & 7/8 race headers and their true duals, dyno tune coming soon. I think intake is my next adder before H&C. And yes I have already spent $ on traction bars and body braces.

Sell both LS6's to someone looking to boost their motor, buy FAST 92 with little money out of pocket.

Ya that's kind of what I thought the consensus would be. I know there are some good dyno charts out there somewhere. Anyone know the difference between a peak ported LS6 and a Fast?

It greatly depends on your setup. Some will argue it doesn't but it does. Most of the time a Fast will gain some everywhere. How mjch depends on the rest of the car. Yes, sell both for 300-350 and buy a used Fast for 700.

Ya of course more mods the more you will get out of a fast. I'm just not sold that they are worth the $. I have read several reviews about guys dealing with sealing issues and really difficult to get the idle correct. Peak claims 13hp out of a $300 ported LS6 and TB. Isn't that the better deal with reliability not being an issue?

To some, yes. To others, no. Only you can answer that. You can have TPIS mod one LS6 and sell the other.

Keep both ls6's until you're ready to pull the trigger on the H/C build. Reason being you have have the FAST port matched to the heads to really optimize the combo.

i like the way you think 98ss. Clearly the most reasonable reply yet! Might as well buy a Z06 and have a spare for either. I'll sell this idea to the wife!

On an otherwise stock engine, you won't really see any gains going to the FAST but it sounds like you'll be souping it up in the future and that FAST will really shine.

Sell the LS6 manifolds and get the FAST.

Sell both and that will either cover or pay the majority of the Fast.

If your heads and cam package will feature a big cam then that will turn high rpm, I would favor a ported Fast and ported TB matched to your new cylinder heads. If your new cylinder heads will be aftermarket castings I would favor a Fast intake. Sell both LS6 intakes.
If the price is right I will happy buy one of your LS6 intakes.

If your heads and cam package will feature a small cam that's very daily driver friendly: based on actual dyno testing done on my RS Camaro with the Fast 102 LSXRT, 92 LSX & a Peak Ported LS6 with 90mm TPiS snout, I would favor Peak Ported LS6 with 90mm TPiS snout. On my RS the trick Peak Ported LS6 with 90mm TPiS snout intake had the best area under the curve in hp & torque and also made the best peak hp & torque. It is also much easier tune to 100% stock driveability.

Note in testing on my RS the Fast LSX made 3 less peak hp than the trick LS6.
The Fast LSXRT made 2 less peak hp.

As with any build correctly matching all the parts together for the application will produce the best results. Best wishes with you build.
