1 3/4 or 1 7/8? Final build will be procharger with goal of 800 rwhp. Only want to purchase 1 set.

1 7/8'' for LS1 and LS6 cars, especially those going FI. X-pipe will be nice too.

You should be asking more like 1-7/8" or 2".

Seems like over kill on a small block. Only looking to make 800 rwhp.

You might have a point. But calling these a small block invites comparison to the Gen I old-school small block. The LS engines outperform many of the old school big blocks. So a 2" primary tube is not out of the question, even for 800 rwhp.

my opinion; conventional wisdom goes out the window with a blown LS. i went 1 7/8 on my kenne bell 408 only because i couldnt find a 2" that would fit the car (ls converted car). you're forcing air down its throat, get the air out as fast as possible. i wouldnt really worry about a x or y pipe either unless you just like the way it sounds. scavenging isnt near as important when you're shoving air into the top end. my 3" collectors will be opened to 3.5" duals with an H pipe just to balance the sound some (personal preference)

Going to run duals all the way out the back thru race mufflers and no cats. Prefer to run an x pipe. Good location for a wide band. This will be primarily a street car with trips to the track. Building it for all around performance, street, freeway, 1/4 or 1/8. Not trying to rule one area.
