Default 98 z28- won't start...?

I bought this 98 Z28 has only 97000 miles (guess ) and I can't get it to start.. I don't think I'm getting spark/ign because it's just turning over and I know the fuel pumps working because I can hear it. The car did sit for a couple years before I got it. I'm thinking maybe faulty coil packs but not sure. How do I eliminate the pcm itself.. One other thing. I have lights on the instrument panel when I turn the key but the mileage and trip digital readout is blank... Nothing. This confuses and worries me. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Default also

I pulled a couple of spark plugs and they looked ok, dry but not white tipped. Does this mean the injectors aren't even pulsing fuel?

There are a few basic tests you should start with. Unscrew the plastic cap off the valve on your fuel rail. With the key turned to on, press in the valve and see if you have fuel pressure. If you do, you can then check spark. Pull a plug out of the head and plug it back into the wire. Crank the car and see if there is spark at the plug. This should get you in the right direction.

Default 98 won't start...... cont

Thank you "nine8ss" I'm about to go out and Jack it up and see how the fuel filter looks.... Also when I bought the car the guy I got it from said it might have bad gas in it. I smelled thru the filler and it smelled good and strong but I'm gonna pump some out thru the filter or right before the filter.... After I do this in gonna jump to what you suggested. Thanks again... I'll post as soon as I get done messin with her. Later

Try swapping the ignition relay with a fan relay. Some times a failing ignition relay will not send enough voltage to the injectors to start the car

Default damn

I've been trying to pull the fuel filter for about an hour and a half( I know embarrassing) but I couldn't get the right size wrench. When I finally put some channel locks on it I was going the wrong way. I thought I had to spin the grip thug l towards the line and away from filter... Turn out it's towards the line and you need two wrenches... I ended up twisting my fuel line up.

Ouch. You should be able to pick up that fuel line at a local junkyard for a few bucks. I know this is easier said than done, but you need to drop that fuel tank and get the crap gas out. It will only cause problems down the line.

I did pump the gas out by turning the key on and off a bunch of times.... It only has five gallons in it... May be a tiny bit left but I'm gonna add non ethanol fuel... Fill ER up

I twisted my fuel line changing the fuel filter as well, but it didn't break. What had happened to me, with both the fuel and brake lines is the line gets so rusted to the fitting, the fitting won't spin on the line and it just twists.

Yeah, it sucked I thought I was supposed to turned the line off of filter cause that's how the grip looked I needed two wrenches, but in reality I had to turn the one that looked like it screwed on to the filter off the line and in doing this I twisted the line about one whole turn, but I noticed it before it clamped the fuel line shut and back twisted it enough to make it almost normal.. There really wasn't any rust just on there good and I was using one wrench and one channel locks pliers, I didn't have the 23-24mm wrench for the filter side... I think if I had that wrench it would've came off Okay... Oh well what can ya do, right?
