Default bent header flange

bought some new in box 2 inch headers from kooks. got them coated. shop installed them only to find that it they leak. cylinder 1 and 3. pass side is fine. using mls a.c. delco gaskets. he said that sometimes stacking 2 mls gaskets will solve this problem so that's what he is goona try. I do have the kooks seal for good mls gaskets that have a bubble shape that looks like it compresses a little more. I think we could try that. any tips?

Put a straight edge against the flange to see if it's bent, and if so, try to straighten it.

I figured it may be that easy, but then thought maybe it bends in a way that makes straitening tough or something. I'll respond back after he tries 2 gaskets

Nothing that can't be fixed with a torch and hand grinder. Don't overthink it.

Could always see if a machine shop can jig it up and mill off the high spots if you want to get real technical.

My ARH headers are the same way. I doubled up two GM MLS gaskets and all is well. Pretty depressing to pay $1500 for headers that leak. You’ll likely hurt the coating trying to fix them.

My ceramic coated Hookers leaked at cylinder 8, You'd think theses companies could do a quality check before shipping stuff. My TSP headers were perfect.

I didn’t have any problems with my ARH install. Fit amazingly well and great ground clearance. The TSP’s I tried before were an absolute nightmare.
