Default '00 SS Gauge Lights

I've been doing a lot of searching and have failed to find a straight forward answer to my problem.

The problem is periodically when I drive my car three dash lights pop up on my gauge cluster at once, those lights being:

The traction control "ASR" light
Emergency brake "BRAKE" light
Lastly the ABS "ABS INOP" light

I've tried some trouble shooting and have seen that possibly the alternator could be the culprit and also a wheel speed sensor.
I would like to know if anyone has experienced this and if there is a straight forward fix without dumping a lot of money at BS trying to fix it.
Other than the 3 lights my car runs and drives fine.

With that being said my buddy is a manager at a shop and has a code scanner and the one code that pops up is a "P1637 Generator L-terminal circuit" so with some searching on that I'm leaning towards the alternator even though it rarely dips below 13v.

Any and all help is appreciated!

Start by checking ALL connections. All 3 functions listed above are related.

never seen that code however I had the same issue and it was my abs module. If you have a scanner that can read abs codes it can point out whether or not its abs related fairly quickly

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I'm going to start troubleshooting this weekend and see if I can figure anything out.
Questions: Is there a diagram that will show me the location of the connections so I have a good place to start?
Also is there a particular shop or place that has a scanner that can read the ABS codes? I've done some searching with no luck on that part.

Thanks in advance.

I know this may be silly, but I've heard that the "ABS INOP" light can turn on if you are using unusual tire diameters between the front and rear.

Not silly, when I ran 28" slicks with the 26" fronts, my abs was all kinds of pissed off. Every time I touched the brakes the abs would go off. The abs light stayed on.

Interesting! My recently-bought 2004 Tahoe has 20" rims with tires with about 1.4" lower diameter than the OEM tires. I was wondering what would happen if I replaced 2 tires at a time, starting with the rears. Looks like now that is not a such good idea...

I just have a fairly basic bosch scanner and it reads abs codes so im sure a shop should have something that can as well.

The L Terminal code is the red charging wire to the alternator. It can be a phantom code in that the wire is good and charging but the computer shows a fault. I had that issue earlier this year.

This is true however, the wheel and tire sizes are stock as is the entire car.

I was hoping that was the case but the search still continues. It would be nice if I could find one to help eliminate some of the BS with all of the troubleshooting.

All I had time to do this weekend was to look up the code I was already given and found out that's what it meant, I wish I would have checked my thread sooner or you would have saved me some time haha. What did you do to fix this code?

Again, thanks for all of the recommendations! Still trying to sort through it.

UPDATE:

I've done a lot of research and long story short I took my EBCM out to do a little soldering. Well I was short on time and when I seen that the cover wouldn't come off without a little cutting and prying I said F it for now since it was my nephews birthday and had work the next day. I put it back in and the lights have been off for over a month now (90 mile round trip for work) and everything has been working perfectly. Maybe I scared it fixed? Maybe it knew I was about to solder the F out of it? IDK and don't care unless the lights come back on haha. So for you guys still wondering the good ole take out and put back in did it for me... for now.

Removal/replacement likely fixed a loose connection. Maybe check it once in a while if it's prone to getting loose.
