Default 4th gen air induction..design?

New to the forum, I am a HVAC contractor. I have all the tools and supplies and an idea but I was hoping to get some information from people who have used it and see better design.

does anyone have any ideas to for a better design on the SLP (or other) cold air induction, I already have the lid, MAF and bellows.. this is going on 01 SS but I’m open to any fabrication. I would love to improve this and make it available cheap. If there’s no room for improvement or I’m just a moron I can except it.

Welcome to the community, take a look at the Chris1313 or SSRA ram air setups, those designs sound along the lines of what you're looking at.

The air box can be modified to allow more air underneath but the ram air hood on these cars are fully functional with the stock air box. I have an LSX 427 with FAST LSXr 102 and FTP lid and I've started the car with a car cover over it and noticed when I'd gave it some gas the cover was being sucked in towards the cowl.

I've sure this has been asked before, but what about using a LT1 style CAI instead of the LS style that goes over the radiator?

Thanks for posting the information in regards to induction samples, I need to look them up to know their architecture.

which style the one that's flattened one? Maybe like The flat one but dual? The rest just look like turbo vent pipe.. Any chance anyone has the dimension of the two separate boxes?

The thing I like about the LS F-body induction design is that the air has a relatively straight shot from the inlet of the air box to the throttle body. No 90 degree turns which kill velocity. Also remember that the two holes in the front grill of the LS bumper feed fresh air straight up to the front of the air box.

I don't have any hard data to back this up, but my opinion is that you'd see maybe a couple degrees cooler on IAT temps, but the loss of velocity would negate that.

Here's a thread that talks about the aforementioned intakes
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...313-worth.html

They both lower IAT's, very good

Might be worth PM hiossilver about his duggy box intake. It does not run a maf very well at all but gets filtered cold air from the high pressure spot at the bumper to the intake quite well.

Behind the grill you have the bumper foam blocking the air. The F bodies breath from under the radiator area.
