Default Pacesetter's Ordered!

i finally ordered my LT's.Speed Engineering has the GP going on 'til the end of the month....$349!!!!Killer price!im going to remove the cats for now, until i can afford some Random Tech Hi-Flow's.any install tip's??? i read JRP's header install guide,already....any other tip's? im probably just going to cut my TD's off to get the headers in...then drive to the shop to get 'em re-welded.then ill get a dyno-tune..or wait til i get my cam.well see.any suggestions would be great.also what tools will i need?besides a die-grinder(to knotch k-member;if i have to)TIA. also...i know about having to install O2 ext's and sim's....but what will happen if i dont get dyno-tuned right away;to delete rear O2's.(just throw a code?)

you won't get an SES light with O2 sims. You should be OK without a tune. Removing the coil packs/brackets helps get to the last header bolts on each side. I didn't have to grind anything down when I isntalled mine. By the time I knew it my helper had slid both sides in from the bottom. Get a set of GM headers gaskets if you can. Don't use the ones supplied with your headers. If possible reuse the GM EGR and AIR gaskets as well.

I just installed mine last week, had NO problem putting them in. I did not remove the coil packs to get to the last bolt, it was not that bad for me. You will have to remove part of the steering shaft and the dip stick tube, other than that it is easy.(no notching was required) It took me about 3 hrs to take the old ones off and an hour or so to put the long tubes on and finish the 02's and simms, that was with hand tools in the garage, although that does not include the install of the exhaust.( duals on backorder till Friday...damn!) Good luck!

I just finished putting mine on yesterday, but I'm still waiting for Speed Inc to ship me my Y-pipe! I can't drive it with open headers....

Congrats on the purchase and I hope you love them!

Only thing we removed was the coil packs. Everything went smooth as hell. Headers slid right on up in there no force was involved.

Make things easier, use a lift

are the extensions a must? and would you reccomend getting 02 sims or just leaving the code on...i've yet to decide whether or not to get a tune after them or wait...it'll prolly be about 1.5 years before i would get the heads/cam..but i don't know

yes extensions are a must, dont extend them yourself, get the premade ones. o2 sims are optional, if your gonna be removing the AIR and EGR i would not get the sims, but otherwise getting some sims will get rid of the ses light.

Yes extensions are a must. Dont use the ones pacesetter sends you though. They dont look very durable and its easy to make a mistake. Go ahead and spend the extra 30 bucks and get premade extensions.

enough that the butt-o-meter will notice the increase.
15-35 hp is my guess depending on your mods.

I just did an install on my 99 TA, dident knotch, grind, or cut anything.....the pace LTs and ORY fit like a damn glove!

I removed my coil packs and the manifold bolts were easy (except the last ones on each side, but they eventually came out with a little work and some liquid wrench, which I would reccomend getting!). Dident need to unbolt the steering linkage either, both headers fit up nice and easily.....

To get everything done, I put the rear wheels on ramps, aswell as the front wheels (to get all the stock stuff out), and then when the time came to put the headers up and in, I jacked it up a bit more and they went right in (couldent get em in with just ramps on all 4 tires, had to get a little more clearance in the front).

A lift may have made it a bit easier, but I found that I really had no trouble with just ramps and a jack + jackstands....
