To get rid of PCV do I just need some breathers?

There's some info in this thread related to that:

I plugged off my PCV. I run a big breather on the oil fill tube and a small one in the back of the DS valvecover. No problems. If your car is a daily driver a PCV system w/catch can would be better to suck out all those nasty vapors. I just change my oil frequently and do not daily drive the car.

My PCV is completely plugged off even the LS6 valley cover. I just stuck two breather on there one on each side. If you already have a catch can just leave it and try plugging the fresh air intake off the TB. Then add a breather on the oil cap or a small breather on the drivers side valve cover.
Or better yet if you don't have the LS6 setup, run the pcv vacuum off the drivers side valve cover only(instead of the pass side) and put a breather on the oil cap(pass side). That way your pulling air across or "through" the engine and getting a good ventilation of your crankcase. If you drive your car daily or in traffic a lot I would recommend leaving the PCV system due to the build up of harmful vapors that can contaminate your oil and pit your bearings.

I wouldnt get rid of the PCV on a daily driver. The PCV system helps keep the oil clean by getting rid of water vapor and pulling combustion by-products out. When you start up your car in cold weather, you'd be suprised how much water condenses in the oil. Water in the oil can form acidic compounds.
