Default Eliminating EGR???? LS6 or LSX??

I want to get either the LS6 manifold or the Fast LSX manifold. The LSX is sooo much more expensive. Is it that much better? I also would like to get rid of the EGR system. Is that a good idea or bad idea? How hard is it to do that? Does it cause any problems?

Search is your friend. Most of these questions have been answered 18,000 times or more. What mods have been done to your car? What are your goals? We need more information to be able to tell you which manifold would be better for you.

I'm originally from Putnam County, NY btw.

Where is jrp when you need him?

The LSx is marginally better and significantly more expensive. Bottom line.

The LSX is a great intake manifold but if I were to go back I would have bought the LS6 instead. The LSX performs good but it's very expensive. What mods are you planning to do? If you're just planning on replacing the intake manifold and nothing else it wouldn't benefit you much until you do more mods. Let us know what other plans you have and this will help us out to determine what mods are best for you.

I plan on doing some internals eventually. I wanna do the rockers, cam, possible heads. I'm hesitating on the internals because of the fact you have to set valve lash and all that. I'm well mechanicaly inclined, but I don't know how to do that. I would also be afraid of messing something up. I would have someone do it for me, but there isn't anyone i can really trust unfortunatly. So I guess i wouldnt be doing internals for at least a year. I would do the rockers now if i new how to set valve lash. I heard for a couple different ways, i dont know which to do.

I just had an LS6 intake installed this morning ( Fastech).
Before & after Dyno gave me a solid 15 RHP.

Money well spent!
Thanks Sean!

I have replaced almost every mod at least once in my car. I did not see the 3 year down the road future. Why not get the LSX just in case you get a hair up your a$$ and get a big motor in the future.
