Default AMW catch can leaking...

I've had my AMW catch can (with Al's bracket) for a few months now and I've noticed that it leaks some oil from the valve located at the bottom of the can used to drain the oil. It is completely closed, but oil still gets out of there somehow because after a few hundred miles of driving, the small lever to open/close it is covered in oil. I'm not complaining about the can, I was wondering if anyone has taken off the valve and just used a bolt with some type of thread sealer so the oil won't seep out. I would really rather just take it off, and pour the oil out of the catch can the old fashioned way, without the use of that valve. Anyone done this?

1/8 npt pipe plug with a little teflon tape will take care of it. Thats what I did on my can. Sorry for the leaky drain, let me know if you want another and I'll fix you up.

I'm not very familiar with the catch cans, where do you connect them to, what benefits do they provide? I have a LS6 valley cover. Thanks for any info.

Thanks Todd, I'll pick up a pipe plug tomorrow and see if it helps.

Do you guys notice any difference in oil consumption or performance after adding the catch can?

I think for the most part if your car had an oil consumption from the PVC system you'll still use the same amount of oil, the thing is most of the oil will get trapped in the catch can before getting ino the intake.......which in turn will help your performance. JMO

I got rid of a ton of knock I was having after adding this...I put it on, ran some top end cleaner through my car, and proceeded to enjoy not having all sorts of knock from 4k RPM and up.
