They do have AIR I think, but no EGR.
They do it through the slight change in the cam/cam gear that was new for '01 or something.

They have (had ) AIR.

Cam negated the need for an EGR, like said above.

Because they come with EGR disabled in the PCM from the factory. I have it disabled via LS1-Edit on my 98 and it passes.

AIR? EGR? what are those? what use to get in my way working on the car?
youll be fine as long as you delete the codes 98% of inspectors wouldnt know the difference anyway see way to many different cars to pick up on it

The bigger stock cam came in 98-00 compared to the 01s and 02s. You won't have a problem with the sniffer if you remove the EGR and still keep your stock cam.

Now this AIR thing you all speak of...I do remember once upon a time removing something from my car that cluttered up the engine bay, the check valve made squeaking sounds on occassion, and made my lights dim at night. I'm guessing that must have been it

Good thing it isn't there anymore...it ain't gonna make up for my lack of cats here in about 4 days.

Yeah I was thinking about maybe adding the '98s 28 pound injectors along with the LS6 intake going on next week to have the ultimate stock combo/mix of '98, '00 and '01/'02 on one car.
