Any more soundclips, Pics, etc?

Will they fit any headers or just Bassani?

i took a pic showing me holding a tape measure. but, it was blurry. there is 4.5" ground clearance at the lowest point which is the driver's side pipe.

ok went to the track last night. picked up .2 and 2 mph NA and .3 and 3 mph on 200 n2o over when i had the stock exhaust no cutout. NA times are the same vs electric cutout. but on the bottle is where it shines. all these comparisons are based off the same track OSW.

NA times --- stock ----- cutout ---- bassani dual
60ft --------- 2.062 ---- 2.031 ----- 2.028
1/8 ---------- 8.855 ---- 8.729 ----- 8.701
mph --------- 82.34 ---- 83.70 ----- 84.13
1/4 ---------- 13.642 -- 13.449 ---- 13.422
mph --------- 102.66 -- 104.05 ---- 104.22

200 n2o ---- stock ----- cutout ---- bassani dual
60ft --------- 2.004 ----- 2.020 ---- 1.969
1/8 ---------- 7.873 ----- 7.990 ---- 7.739
mph --------- 93.26 ----- 92.16 ---- 95.81
1/4 ---------- 12.056 ---- 12.191 -- 11.814
mph --------- 118.46 ---- 118.20 -- 121.35

dates ------- stock ----- cutout --- bassani dual
NA and n2o- 6/17/04 - 11/3/04-- 12/22/04

overrall opinion. on a completely stock car, the dual is about the same as any other exhaust. BUT, as you can see, as you start to increase in power, the bassani keeps up. the stock exhaust with a 3" cutout becomes a restriction.

Looks low in the back and seems like a big waste of money. Why have true duals only to make them quiet? Save your time/money and just buy a nice regular catback. JMHO

Man I don't see how you could say that is a waste of money. I mean, many people want duals for power without the loud sound. Besides, with the way that is setup, you could swap in chambered mufflers pretty easy I would think. And it is freakin stainless steel! And over $200 cheaper for any ALUMINUM over the axle setup I have seen. Yes, it's a little low in back and a little quiet, but man this looks GOOD. And $780 for aluminum duals over the axle is CHEAP. Especially when you get to keep the PHB brace. I was almost sure that I was going to go under the axle duals, but this definately gives me something to think about.

So we need: more pics, more sound clips, more track times, more dyno graphs, etc.

Do you think that this muffler flows as well as bullets or other mufflers used in other dual setups? I mean, will it make as much power as other dual setups?

I think that it looks promising. I like to have an exhaust that has a good deep rumble to it but just loud enough when you open it up. The true dual setups that a lot of guys are doing with the bullets being dumped before the axle sound good but are just too loud for my taste. Sometimes, the older you get, the more reserved you get on things like this. If they ever make it to be adapted to long tubes, I may be in.

I like the concept, but I don't like that the passenger exhaust pipe hangs so obviously low when looking at it from behind. I wish the passenger exhaust pipe would have gone between the muffler and the rear end, like on the magnaflow setup.

If I had a stock car I'd probably buy this exhaust, but I'd have to rework the rear portion to mimic the magnaflow catback.

louder doesnt mean its better.
i also agreee that its better to get a catback for bang for the buck wise.
but if you mod youre car, dual is better hands down.

the rear pipe doesn't hang any lower than the muffler itself. and yes any good exhaust shop can just redo the pipes in front of the x-pipe to make it fit headers. as far as loud. not everyone wants a loud exhaust just because it's duals. personally i get tired of a loud exhaust when i'm driving a considerable distance. i'd like to hear my radio. i'm glad i got rid of the cutout. same and better performance over the cutout and doesn't irritate me. and like i said, for basic mods, it's about the same performance wise. but, i buy for the end result. i won't need to buy another exhaust system when i put more to it later on.

this is a 2.5" dual setup. the muffler is straight through. so no restriction there. it'll be within a couple of horsepower of all the others i'm sure. but, there is a little more piping involved. as far as the pipe going to the right that people seem to complain about, you can cut it off and have a dual exit on the left if you want also.

Definately a step in the right direction...especially the price on the stainless Very cheap. I think there are more people with headers that are interested in duals than there are people with stock manifold that want duals. Why go through all the trouble to increase scaveging with an X and leave the stock manifolds. I think it would have been better, and wouldn't be surprised, if they make one to fit a variety of headers. Also, as mentioned before, I too am not fond about how the pipes enter the muffler and would definately re-do that with a pair of stainless Sweet thunders or magnafpacks. Why not just get the BMR relocator and do the pair right over the axle?

However, that still is one bad *** system. If they actually come out with those two options and maybe a 3" system I would buy it. I am too far into my custom system to purchase another and make mods to it. Had this come out 6 months ago, I would have been all over it. Premium catback for 700 or BAssani full X dual system for 900.....No brainer

i dont consider 1000 dollars cheap at all for a bunch of pipes that wont increase power by alot.
for 800 bucks its on par with the prices of all the other hi end catbacks.
either way its not cheap but im sure it well hurt the sales of borla, corsa and gmmg and rightfully so.

looks to be a very nice setup.

Bassani products are top notch, I installed a X pipe on a 03 cobra last night, it was a used part, on the 3rd vehicle it was reinstalled on, installed VERY easily, Perfect fit, no leaks, and even after 50,000 miles on the previous car, it still was in great shape, some discoloring, but no rust.

It might not be cheap, but if they're f-car products are similar to the mustang line, i may pull my grotts headers and corsa off, and do a full bassani setup on my car.

i guess you missed my point on it. you can buy this system now. or you can buy a regular 3" single pipe catback. then later, when you are trying to push 450 rwhp or better out of it like i am, buy another system. pay once or twice. up to you.
