not happy with my setup..need ideas...
well after being down about my current setup, i need to do something about it! Well heres the problem...i think the cam choice is what really messed it up. I have the a 228/228 on a 114 and its tuned and im only putting down 377hp and 371 torque. The car bucks at low rpms and still sometimes searches for idle. I dont know if I should go with the 224 since ive seen alot of people get 390+ out of that cam!!! and here i am with +4 on each end with less numbers.... i know bigger isnt always better and i think thats really the case with this. The car is a 99 m6 with the following mods: f10 cam on a 114, prc dual spring kit, tuned with edit by Sean Freese, ls6 intake, powdercoated and ported TB by Janzter, ngk tr55's, pacesetters with 2.5" catted TD's, and the MTI clear lid, tb bypass, !egr and !AIR, !cags, b&m shifter, spohn lca's and adjustable phb, nittos, fra, spec 3 and new slave........any ideas on if there's something i can do to better the current set up? The dyno was with 55% humidity if that helps at all.... would i get better power out of the 224 or should i go with a 230/232 or something like that??

sounsd like the tune is f-ed up. you may wanna post somethinga bout this in the dyno section and/or the pcmdiagnostics/tune section
did you get a baseline dyno by any chance? hp increase would be subjective to your baseline numbers.

I vote tune as well. Have you called the guy that tuned it? Has it does this ever since the tune? Sounds like my car before the tune. I have the TSP 228R on 112 and the car idles fine and does not surge with stock gears unless I am moving slow or just coasting.
