FAST 90mm TB - *Fix Pics* Voodoo semi completed.
Well, I took apart my FAST 90mm TB tonight and found that the shaft is flattened already for the bracket set screw (this is good).
There was a tiny pilot divot there which the set screw bit into, so I drilled the existing hole out a bit bigger so that the set screw could bite some more.
I gave the spring 1/2 more twist and put everything back together, using some loctite on the set screw (didn't do the peen mod- no hex wrench available). We'll see how this works out.

Good luck. I sure hope it works for you. That has definitely created some concerns for many people. It has also prevented many people buying the FAST intake setup. Keep us posted.
Did you gain anything with the 90mm set up?

Hi Folks
Everybody is concerned about the TB being stuck open - I was thinking about adding a spring to help pull it back. It should not be hard to do that and it may help people sleep at night. The spring on the FAST TB is smaller than the stock spring. Just my thoughts

I did the extra spring mod on mine. It kept it from hanging at 1/2 throttle.
I still had problems with how far the TB would close. It would Idle at 800 to 1200 rpm or where ever it felt like.
Switched out for a TPIS TB and never looked back.
Nick Williams is making a TB now for a good price that solves this problem also.

OK.
This little fix did not work. It not only did not work, it made things worse.
The TB used to stick @1400 now it sticks @2000.
When I took it off the car, it intially would stick between 0 and 5 degrees angle. It would not close properly, so IT WAS DEFECTIVE TO BEGIN WITH.
This is where it ends for this POS TB. I'm not investing any further time in trying to fix this POS TB.
I don't know what's worse; buying this thing last Fall and reading for months of this TB sticking (and the anxiety of knowing yours will stick come February's install), or actually having it stick.
Edit: deleted obsenities (I'm calmer now).

Have you contacted FAST yet? I'd talk them about sending it back.
I'm dealing with them about my TB. Here is my contact person, Hadley Owens:
howens@fuelairspark.com
I was hoping that an extra 1/2 turn on the spring would help.

I contacted them initially, but quite frankly I can't deal with a 1 week turnaround on their repair. This car is my daily driver.
I'll send it to them after the TPIS is installed.
Thanks for the link.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I really am not spending any more time on fixing this TB. This is not an acceptable way to deal with a defective part.

I appreciate your optimism, but my faith in this product is not as strong as yours. I'm glad yours works well.

They are aware that people are having problems. I'm trying to work with them to gather the complaints and give them information that will help them fix the issues. See my "Sticking TB" thread in this forum if you can add your experience to it.

that sucks ... you did a lot more than i would of ... what's amazin is that these things are known to have these issues and the manufacturer still hasn't fixed these problems and they continue to sell defective junk ... and if they are workin to fix the problem then until they are fixed, stop sellin them

Mine TB is a little different then yours. The unit I have is completely flat to the end of the shaft. I don't know if that makes a difference - it could be a later version (Jan 05). Just some information.
I also don't understand why FAST has not responded to anybody's posting. It is like they are hoping the problem goes away which it sounds like it will not.
