i am one of the many that are more than pleased with their pacesetter experience. are u saying there arent plenty of top of the line companies that havent had their share of problems here and there?? come on man, look at the ratio of problem headers to quality headers that pacesetter has produced. it is not even in the same ballpark as the whole "patriot performance thing." and people are still buying patriot heads right and left. pacesetters ****** rock

It's not a few extra horsepower that make kooks or QTP worth the money, it's the stainless steel. Those coated pacesetters see much water and they'll be covered in surface rust so fast....

I can honestly say that I was thrilled with the quality of the welds and the headers in general when I installed mine last week (race version). Their Y-pipe isn't the best, but the headers were great for a little over $300.

My experiences are totally different than what you speak of...but like I said, mine were the race version with no EGR or AIR.

And I'd never use Patriot Performance either so whats your point? Had a customer with a set of their heads that would rock back and forth because the deck surface was so out of level.

When one of my customers pays money for a part I expect it to be 100% OR have quality customer service. From just seeing these headers they are a joke, wiring your own o2 extensions, y-pipes that dont fit for crap, and non-tapped threads. This is the way they make their prices cheaper yes I understand. But why on a 30000 dollar car would you put a piece of garbage?

Do Kooks come with extensions?

I agree...the DIY kit is rediculous....that's why I bought extensions from LS1Speed.

Here u go. Coated buddy. This thread prolly just gonna start alot of fighting, by saying pacesetter is trash u are putting us guys who have them down as well. Not every one has the cash to get SS headers.

Oh and the make ur own extensions thing is very simple. I don't see why yall have such a problem with them. I made my own and drive in snow and rain with no porblems.

Yes and that is with a offroad y-pipe. I should have made myself clear and stated we are using a catted y-pipe. I do apologize.

I am not trying to put anyone down, I am just stating the quality of the product that I have seen. I do this 6 days a week 300+ days a year, I have a lot of experience with the ls1s and different headers. I do not mean to put anyone down but I will state a product when it is subpar. I think for your money you guys are owed a lot more.

i bought my pacesetters early in 04 and had some issues with them but i couldnt beat the price $345 shipped(coated headers) + $85 for their ypipe this was on a 98 that had egr/air...everything was located properly but you are correct about it being a complete pita having to do the nut/bolt/washer thing...i eventually just !air but egr was the bitch...i spent 10mins on it with my fat fingers...as soon as my friends showed up at the end of my install I let them deal with it lol. Not to mention since they were the older ones i had to clearance the aarm slightly or that it took them a month and 2 complete sets(3 deliveries) of headers to get it right lol.

No problem with mine. All hardware included. Install was easy. The only issue I had was little drops of weld on the header surface the mates to the head (dremeled those off). I thought they were a good product for the money.

We have bought, sold and installed quite a few sets of Pacesetter headers with no problems! We have found them to be a great header and I believe they are second to non for horse power gains!

If you are comparing coated headers to coated headers, you can't beat Pacesetters. Of course SS headers are going to be better than anyone's coated headers. While I too usually say you get what you pay for, this time you get a lot for your money with Pacesetter headers, I would and do recommend them.

hmmm.....its not the top of the headers people usually worry about. its the other 75% of the header thats really in the path of debris and weather conditions. if you're cool with rusted **** all over your car, thats cool. go buy a pinto or a '84 honda. i drive a nice car compared to many college students i know and i refuse to put anything subpar on my car.......even if that means I go w/o mods while I save up. that goes from bolt-ons all the way to full motors.

pacesetters here .... best bang for buck hands down ... flanges are as thick as any header at 3/8"

as for the kit they include to extend your o2 sensors, well, dont use it ... they didnt have to throw it in ... use it for wiring up other elctronics on the car

I don't have any problems with mine either. I didn't use the 02 extensions either. I didn't need them. My headers are pretty good quality. I wouldn't change a thing about them, especially since I got them for the price I did.

yay coated headers........................

Thats 2 years(almost no rain and absolutely no snow). Not pacesetters though.

My Kooks are a year and a half and still look brand new. I dont care too much about how they look but the road that the old ones were heading down didnt impress me. I dont give the Kooks another thought on how long they will last or the quilaity, thats worth the extra $$$ to me.

By using butt splices that are not harmonically sealed, they are not weatherproof therefore they can corrode therefore causing an increase in resistance which would give you a false reading on your o2 sensors.
