Default Free Mods: Worth it?

I wanted to know if all of the free mods were worth doing. Meaning ported MAF, !egr, coolant bypass, FRA mod, etc. Im thinking about doing them tomorrow but I dont know if I want to because it might just be wasted effort.

Don't port the MAF. ESPECIALLY if you have an auto. Descreen it at the most, being carefull of the wires.

Ho can they NOT be worth it? They are free.

BTW: It's not "!FRA", it's just FRA. The "!" signifies that you removed or disabled it.
Descreen MAF, FRA, !AIR and !EGR, home ported TB with bump stop mod......

This may be a stupid question, but why only !egr if it's a 98-00?

I think he's asking why he didn't list !AIR as well. Go ahead and rip the air system out too.

It makes the engine bay look neater, and makes it easier to work on. Removes a small amount of weight as well.

Free mods aren't a matter of noticing a difference. You probably won't be able to feel a difference until it's on the order of about 10 rwhp. Free mods fall under the "every little bit helps" category.

Porting the MAF is perfectly fine IF you can tune for it. Otherwise, leave it alone. !FRA works well, no ill effects here. !EGR works well, especially on cammed cars with a lot of overlap, however it is likely you will need to adjust your spark table. The TB stop mod is probably a waste of time. The TB coolant bypass is probably ok, but I wouldn't do it. You end up with marginally more hp, if any, and the possibility of your TB icing up if you are in a cold enough area. !AIR is not a hp mod. Any mod that removes weight has some purpose though.

I did the free mod's and as stated earlier fra and ported throttle body mod were the ones that had a noticable difference. I did do the throttle body bypass because I only drive my car when it's nice but didn't notice much diffence except on cool night's.just my 2 cents
