Default Loudmouth 2 with LT headers and no cats?

I haven't done anything to my exhaust yet, looking to do so. I prolly don't want to spring for true duals so I'm looking at a catback. The original Loudmouth is pretty much accepted as being too loud when coupled with LT's and no cats. My question is - what is the Loudmouth 2 like in that setup? Still too loud or is it comparable to the Magnaflow catback? Anyone here have such a setup or know someone with one that can tell me? Thanks alot for the help, GREAT forum here!

There are 3 variations to the Loudmouth 2. You need to specify which one you are referring too.

The one with the "shot gun" resonator will sound a lot like the original LM.
The one with the bullet muffler will sound similar to the dynomouth or the rumbler.
The one with the muffler will be the quietest of the bunch (not sure what it would compare too)

I didn't realize the third option existed. Having the thing roar at WOT doesn't bother me - having it drone unbearably at 2500 rpm is quite another. The bullet muffler is what I'm referring to. Is the modular system also compatible with the regular muffler?

A y-pipe and cat-back will cost more than dumped duals. It's not just that the loudmouth is too loud without cats, but it sounds like crap to most people. The loudmouth two is basically a "dynomouth", which is to say a bullet muffler in place of the resonator.

You can get a true dual setup for cheaper than a loudmouth. I got summit's universal x'pipe kit ($90.00), and bullet mufflers (set for $75.00) and it sounds so mean. Sounds a 100 times better than the loudmout. By the way this setup works great with hedman long tube headers ($230 from jegs).

You could always call up texas speed and performance and order the rumbler X and coated off road pacesetters.

Why would you pay that much for that when you can get the other kit i just mentioned for half the price. By the way it welded up very well very quick.

Another question - can the X-pipe be configured to have mufflers at the end where you can see the exhaust tips? I don't want it just to the axle. I have a friend with one of those and it is TOO loud.

Bringing it out the back by going under or over the axle won't really quiet it down much. It will be a little quieter inside the car though. It usually costs about twice as much to take them out the back. Do a SEARCH on that. Speed inc charges like $550 for dumped duals (what I have) and about $1,200 for out the back. There are other options, but it takes some experince/skill to do it right.
