98 heads and 02 valve covers?
Perimeter v/s Center Bolt refers only to the method of how the valvecovers are secured to the heads, correct? '98 style heads still bolt to the block in the same locations as the '99+ I do believe.
The PCV setup would need to be modified, wouldn't be very difficult though.

Not a big deal, just try to find the VC's from somewhere that won't try to poke you in the rear. I had a contact at the chevy dealer so I got them at a fairly decent discount. Were it not for that, I would have dug around in junk yards and on the net till I found them.
Best of luck!

Since the '98's had the coil packs mounted individually to the VC's rather than on a rail, you would just need to remove the coil packs from the rail and mount directly to the VC's. You may have a problem with getting the last bolt in to place on the passenger side coil pack closest to the firewall, but it'll work.BTW: I picked up my set of '98 style VCs from off the boards here for $35 shipped.
