A quick question about the exhaust crossmember

A quick question about the exhaust crossmember Did you guys leave it there after you installed your headers/y-pipe? Mine is still on there, but it's giving me hell with rattles, vibrations, and squeeking. Is there anything good to use to put in-between it and the Y-pipe to soak up these noises?
My Y pipe is 3.5 inch to a 4 inch I pipe out the back. Everything but the collecters is welded up with a few hangers. I get no bangs or rattles (that i can hear..) Being 3.5 inch, it's kind of low, but i have never scraped on any speedbump

Without any hangers or anything, I'm thinking my exhaust is going to hang down way too low without the crossmember there. Maybe I'll just pull it out and bang the hell out of it with a hammer, try to get it to fit a little better.

I just took mine off tonight....the exhaust didn't seem to drop down at all. Hopefully that will get rid of some of the annoying sounds I've been getting lately.

crossmember is not there for the exhaust. If your exhaust were to move when you took it off, then your exhaust would need some work

I put a couple thick washers between my cross over and floorpan, and that solved the problem right away, I actually didn't even have to put washers on both sides to make it stop. I wanted to keep my brace, I figured it must help even slightly at keeping th car from twisting.
