I do prefrer the way it looks with out them much better.
Here is how to re-program for the codes:

http://bowlingss.com/Removing%20Air_...%20Ls1Edit.htm

During inpection, most garages (short of the dealership) dont even know to look for an AIR system. In any event, I've kept the pipe, check valve and tubing (for each side), that runs out from the headers, I could easily re-mount that stuff once a year, during the visual portion of the inspection. So no biggie.

Like almost everyone else said... just take it off and toss it. Engine bay looks much cleaner, much easier to work on, and saves a little weight.

Have any of you ever weighed the whole system? I would think that the pump has a little weight to it?

My check valve was squeaking, so I tossed it. I've thought about emissions from time to time, but have never regretted it. FL doesn't have emissions, so as long as I stay in the military, I won't have to worry about it.

I hear so many different things. leave this, get rid of this, my concern is Texas is now Emissions testing, I have stock manifolds and will be a while before can afford headers, it would be nice to clean the engine bay up a bit, Main question, if remove AIR, leave EGR, will I possibly fail emissions (not concerned with a visual check)?

If either system is removed you will throw a code unless you have it turned off via LS1edit, or HPtuners. Once that is done, your good to go.

I have been without AIR and running an ORY since first of June without having the codes turned off. I just have to stare at the ses light. Oh well, it doesn't hinder performance, so I will have it turned off after the heads/cam and a dyno tune

I live in texas just get your car done with ls1 edit and it will clear the code from coming on or being detected at the emissions station

Didn't keep it or EGR. Absolutely no reason to keep it, no regrets.
