Default Just Ordered Supermaxx Header System

Today I became a grandpa at the ripe old age of 41. I have a house full of great grandmas, aunts and other women who I'm not sure are even related. With all of the exitement going on I have kind of been banished to my little home office, luckily I have all of the credit card in hand.

I thought this would be a good time to slip some stainless steel headers in under the radar, so I ordered them. I understand that they come with excellent install instructions but if anyone has any additional installation tips I would sure be interested in hearing them. I'll update dyno numbers as soon as the install is complete.

Make sure you zip tie the O2 extensions particularly bank 1 on drivers side. I just installed the same system, however no where to tie it. You need to put a bolt up there to zip it to. System kicks *ss.

I am glad to hear your happy with it. How long did the install take. I will be able to put the car on a lift for the install.

I am a first time wrencher. It took me 1/2 day Saturday, Sunday all day, and Monday evening after work. I needed my neighbor to hold the gasket and start the header bolt on both sides, otherwise 99.9% all me on install. I also changed plugs, MSD wires, and oil while there. I did this off my back w/jack stands, so having the lift will help tremendously. Get pipe expander from autozone for y-pipe fit to stock system. Home made tools used: wrachet extender to break bolts on catalytic convertor etc... Be ready to bloody your nuckles because everthing is a tight fit. You will find ways to fit your arms in tight places and maneuver your body. It was well worth it!

Props to you for identifying and seizing upon the opportunity to "slip one in under the radar" (and for becoming a grandpaw). I described my SuperMaxx install experience here: http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...threadid=64073. I still had a little banging after that, but it went away when I installed a driver-side poly motor mount. I am still very happy with the headers and have replaced the cats with Thunder Racing's off-road pipes.

I plan to change spark plugs while I'm in there. There's been no mention of plug wire to header clearance problem so I assume that's good. I am thinking of changing to MSD wires, are there any issues with radio noise with the aftermarket wire?
