wow. i already did the bumstop mod a while back but never knew about the green rubber tab deal in the cable housing. i never really checked to see if it was hitting the stop after i did the mod until now and it wasnt even hitting.
so i pulled the green tab out and its hitting now. thanks for that write up.

okay, behind the battery is a half round box that has 3 cables going to it. i guess it has something to do w the cruise control and TCS. anyway, pop the top off and look at the bottom under the cable pullies. there is a big gear bumping a small green rubber tab. i used a pair of needle noses and grab the big end facing the engine and pull it out. this allows the hammer on the throtle body to bump against the grinded down stop. i dont know how but it worked. hope that helped

your quite welcome i was just looking around wondering and when i heard the noise of the cable snap back i traced it to that little housing Now you can def. put the peddle to the floor if your car didnt come equipped with CC then im not sure what would be holding back just trace your throttle cables! Glad i could help!

I'm getting a reading of 5.02 on my stock 2001 WS6. I have tried grounding with both the battery ground as well as ground bolts in the engine bay. I am definately putting the red end of the volt meter into the blue wire on the TPS as well. TB was ported by Spartan Performance, and does not throw any codes, despite the fact that 5.02 would indicate an angle above 90 degrees. When I look at my TB blade, it looks like everyone else's, looks about 10 degrees short of 90. Reads about 0.70V when TB blade is closed.

well i just did this mod bought a 2.99 multimeter from harbor freight and 1.99 for a hand file... it took a little longer with the hand file but im spot on at 4.71 Dead Nutz... But i did notice that when i put the peddle to the floor i was only maxing 4.52
if you look right in front of the battery there a small black half cylinder looking thing with 3 wires running to it i believe its your cruise control. Pop the top and you will see the wire house on the very bottom theres a small piece of green rubber like a bump stomp that prevents you from going WOT just take a flat head and pop that little sucker out of there now you can go WOT as far as the bumpstop on the TB will allow
!!! Hope this helps you out Alt and any others that have this problem Sorry i dont have any pics to post but if you just look you will find it...![Locked ...](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/lockd.gif)

I don't use the traction control anyway, the first thing I do when I get into the car is disable it. But will it still work after taking that green rubber out?
Any idea what its purpose was?

from the dead....i finally did mine tonight. started at 4.30 volts. ground to 4.65 and the blade looks way better. the traction control box was holding it to a max of 4.50. so i popped the green rubber piece out and the pedal could push it to the full 4.65.

I just did mine, a few tips we picked up from doing it. Take a 8 inch or so screw driver and move the spring down and to the right, out of your way. You can gently wedge it under your manifold and it will stay there. Also take your throttle cable off and you can grind from the side and make a nice straight edge on your cut. Great write up!
