So would just removing the "green rubber stop" only help some...?

Going to do this mod on a 1989 Formula 350 with a motor swap. This should be a good testament to the mod as I believe I have a severe case of bump stop issues. Sometimes WOT is not even accessible, preventing kick down and 100% throttle fuel/spark.

Fixed my issue:
Throttle Cable was too long.
Pushing the pedal to the floor showed 3.8-3.9v on the TPS.
Manually pulling back throttle only showed 4.3v before hitting bump stop.

Fix:
Shortened throttle cable.
Ground bump stop until reaching 4.65v.

Results:
The car bounces to the rev limiter if I blip the throttle.
No gear has any traction from a roll or 70mph punch.
Throttle response in an situation is VASTLY improved.

when I did it the blade would open .02 more when I used the gas pedal, vice using my hand. I even tried it with that little green rubber piece removed. I removed it and got a reading of .70 before turning the blade.. when the piece was still installed the reading was .55.. So I put it back in. I'm at 4.61 and need some more stones to finish it off.. Good free mod.. SOTP can definitely feel a difference. But I also must say I did the free ram air mod too at the same time.

I finally completed mine and its 4.52 with the gas pedal and a idle reading of .55 with the green rubber piece still inserted ... when I had the blade opened to 4.66 using the gas pedal.. the idle reading was .57 with the throttle cable adjusted.. .55 to .57 caused my car to idle at 1200, vice 800, which is normal for me. So I adjusted the throttle cable back to .55 and its 4.52.. Before starting was 4.25.. so I still made a gain

Wasn't sure about this free mod til I read this write up on it. Made it much easier to understand exactly what to do and what not to do. Thanks, will have to ad this on my next garage day.

once again, old thread i know..
the gasket between the TB and intake manifold is rubber and can be re-used right? I'd like to take my TB off and clean it while im doing this, and just want to make sure I wont have to buy a new gasket first. and if it is rubber, do they have a habit of cracking? Thanks guys

No, it should be fine. They are reusable. Just take a good look at it.

For grinding metal my favorite bits are either the tungsten carbide cutter or one of the sanding drums. They make aluminum oxide grinding bits which are supposed to be for something like this though. There isn't too much difference because the abrasive on their sanding bands are aluminum oxide as well AFAIK.

Default sorry for bringing up a dead thread..

Im new to fbodies as I got my first one about a month ago, 2001 ws6 a4. So being behind the powercurve, im finding these threads for the first time. I attached two photos, the photo registering .559 is my idle reading and the 4.43 is my wot (foot to the floor reads 4.45, not a big difference). Should my idle be that low? The car seems to idle fine. Will adjusting .20-.22 make a noticable difference?
