Default Quieting my Hooker Cat Back

I know, I know, why bother? I know there are a few of us out there who prefer the sleeper approach. I like my car really quiet. I have a Hooker cat back on a nearly stock '01 SS Camaro. Some people have tried the muffler in the I-pipe but I did not want to bash in my floor to make room for it. I wanted to add mufflers to the tail pipes but I could not find any mufflers that fit. So I made my own. More work than a lot people want to go to but it seems to work well.

Man, that is really cool. I like the fact that you were detail oriented about it too. Doesnt look like some glasspack that was botched. Good Work!

The Hooker was louder than stock, and unlike most people here, I like the car really quiet. The Hooker is louder but with a little less boom (at least in a vert) than stock. This tailpipe mod would work with any main muffler though.

There was a time when firehawk exhausts included two loudmouth resonators in the tailpipes coming out of the powerflo muffler. I haven't seen many screenshots of such a system, but the one I did was a factory WS6. An LT1 I believe. So it makes sense that this works.

just run electric cutouts right off the manifolds. by the time the internal bleeding from your ear drums bursting stops, you will think hmmm.....this hooker catback sure is quiet.

That was a very interesting write-up. I have also been trying to quiet the hooker CB down.

shouldn't be too loud with a stock motor. Mine wasnt very loud even with headers. Once the cam went in, it all changed.
