Default What ypipe will bolt onto QTP headers?

Just wondering because the QTP ypipe is 335 for aluminized steel, when i can stainless at that price or at least a tsp ypipe for 125! So anyone ever bolt on another ypipe? Thanks!

Not the qtp one thats for sure.....jk I had a hell of a time getting my qtp y pipe to fit(still hung way low on drivers side) And unless they've changed in the last 2 years I would deffinetly try something different and cheaper. This has been discussed b4, too bad search doesnt work.I think I remember something about a mufflex ypipe working good w/qtp headers https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/311997-looking-new-ory-fit-qtp.html

I have been using the QTP Catted Y-Pipe and fits perfectly. It does not bang the floorboard and have plenty of ground clearance.

If you're going to get another Y-pipe, make sure you get another Y-pipe that offers the merge characteristics of the Flowmaster Scavenger Merge Collector which is found in the QTP/Mufflex (same thing) Y-pipe. No use in getting a set of premium, high velocity merge collector long tubes only to have them choked up by a poor flowing y-pipe which slams one bank's exhaust pulses into another's pulses, with no consideration of flow.

The QTP pipe will not have ground clearance problems if properly installed. The car needs to be on a lift, with exhaust jacks to position the pipes before welding/tightening them down.. the Y being in sections allows it to be manipulated to be as close to the floor as possible without hitting anything. IT is a real pain to put on if you are attempting to do it alone, or on your back that I agree with100%, but mine tucked up under the car very well and has no issues, other then being a little too big to fit thru a spohn tq arm easily. THe only thing I can see that QTP could do to try to make their Y a little better would be to try to shorten it about 6 inches, so the merge collector is a little closer to the front, that way aftermarket suspension stuff wouldn't be as much of an issue.

I've had the aluminized steel one on my car for just short of 4 years now. Sure it has some surface rust on it, but it's far from shot.. it will be fine for as long as I'll have it on the car.. by the time it's shot, I'll have bullets and turndowns on and the car will be off teh road permanently.

If you drive your car in the snow and winter weather, then I'm sure after 5 to 8 years it would be falling off, but if that's not the case, it's really not an issue.
