A More Quiet GMMG

A More Quiet GMMG(video clip)
I have the GMMG, and while I love the sound, it's gonna be too loud for me when the longtubes go on. I'm thinking of welding a 3" round magnaflow bullet muffler into the I pipe. Do you guys think I'd be crazy for hacking up such an expensive exhaust? I also thought of adding a powerstick, but I think the magnaflow would tone it down a little more. I'd rather keep the GMMG and find a way to knock down the volume a bit, rather than go with a different catback. Have any of you guys put a muffler in the I-pipe of your GMMG?

Well you have lots of options.
You could just run a catted Y pipe, it will help with noise supression and as long as you get good high flowing cats they won't really hamper performance.
A glasspack muffler in the I pipe should help reduce noise also, but it will change the tone of it.
Stainless Works offer a similar exhaust to the GMMG but it uses 3 mufflers as opposed to two. But it is quite pricey. Adding a chambered muffler (from Stainless Works or a Powerstick (these are not stainless steel)) would IMO be better than a glass pack muffler as it should keep the same sort of sound.

LOL! If only I lived in Texas, I'd have a cam and exhaust more to your liking! Too bad I live in CA where the ricers have given the cops a hard on for loud exhaust, because that means you've modified your car for "streetracing." I might go ahead and throw the magnaflow in there, just because I'm crazy like that lol! I guess there's no one here to ask how it would sound, because no ones done anything stupid like this before.......

There offering Stainless Works at a discount price right now, something like $587 due to overstocking. If that is the route you take, or if you plan on selling your GMMG, I CALL DIBS!!

The thought has crossed my mind, but the GMMG sounds SO good I'd like to keep it if I can make it a little more quiet.

You're crazy man!!! Just get an ORY and a Flowmaster American Thunder for your pacesetters. That'll shut it right up! I can't believe how quiet that exhaust is.... after running open headers for a while.

Starting Point Go with the SPecs From a Berger Camaro. or another special production camaro. and find what they use . They all use a good Tuned Cam along with headers
