METCO BREATHER

let's get this straight. yes or no, the oil filler neck is supposed to be removed when installing a metco breather? mine fits in the neck without clearance issues. are you supposed to oil the element before you install it? i wouldn't think so, the engine will do plenty of that for you, right? i'm new, duhhh.

I used to use one of these. I did NOT remove the fill neck, mine fit just fine as well. You do not need to oil the element because you are not filtering air from the outside in, but rather the inside out, if that makes any sense <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Yeah you remove the black filler neck too otherwise it looks like a chimney.

It's on there hard so it takes some grunt to get it off.

Guys, When it comes to the METCO's do you put one in each cover where the large necks are and delete the PCV?

I have used them to alleviate crankcase compression.

I think to really reduce oil consumption you need to mess with the pcv system... Which I have done. You want to eliminate or filter the pcv line that is under vacuum.
