sometimes the y pipes are alittle tight fitting into each other, usually alittle sanding is all it takes but some people take them to an exhaust shop to be expanded some.

Do you mean TSP? If so, TSP's catted y-pipe fits right up to Pacesetters, Jet Hots and Hooker headers. I'm getting one for my Pacesetters here soon.

Mine fits ok.I tried putting it in piece be piece and was having trouble
then I assembled the whole thing in the driveway and put it on as one piece
and this worked much better. You may have some y pipe banging at first
and you can adjust for this and or jam heater hose in the parts that
are banging.

take it to a exhaust shop and have them open the pipes up a little, after that it is easy sailing.

My TSP catted y-pipe was put on with band clamps. It banged, moved all over the place and souded like my car was going to fall apart. I was depressed, and took my car to a muffler shop the very next day. They replaced the band clamps for welds(not collectors). They held the y-pipe away from the body and welded it. They also added a strip of steel as support from the y-pipe, into the stock rubber bushing spot. Then I had them tack weld the passengers side heat shield away from the y-pipe. The y-pipe doesn't bang anymore, and suprisingly tucks up real nice. I have the eibach pro-kit and still have good clearance considering. Long story short....with some work, you can make the TSP y-pipe fit very nicely and not bang. I'm very happy with the outcome after the muffler shop fix. The best part is, it only cost me $20, which is less than I spent in band clamps.
