It will be much louder. When I took out my Jet Hot Cats it got much louder, but I couldnt tell a difference on the buttmeter when i did it though. I'd leave them in since ya paid for them in the first place.

I'd leave them unless you're making sick power. In my car, they only cost me about 3 rwhp. They're worth keeping for the improved sound and for a much better smelling exhaust. I hate smelling like gas, especially when I'm wearing a suit!

I think i would keep them on. They are already in place. Yes, it is louder with them off but the sound is a little better with them on either way its your call.

I would keep em on, if for nothing else than to be more legal. I understand that no LTs are legal, but they might be a little more forgiving if they see you are still running cats. The only reason I am not going to be getting them on my new setup is because I am cheap and didn't want to pay for them. But if you already have them, I see no point in taking them off.

I run an ORY, and I have NEVER had that problem.

If you have a cam with lots of overlap like Patrick G does, it stinks hella bad. I had an ory when stock and it smelled fine......with my cam I wouldn't light a match around my car at idle! I'm growing to like the smell though.....

Leave em on. I've ran a few different setups and cats actually make the LS1 sound good. With an ORY the LS1 sounds like someone firing a machine gun inside an aluminum trash can! They don't rob much power and clean up the sound and smell really well. With an ORY I would always smell like raw fuel after pulling in the garage or at my car port at work. It does suck to smell like fuel when your heading into work in a suit.

they aren't worth much power, leave them on.

And yes, LT's are illegal everywhere period because they change the location of the stock cats which is a no-no. Some places that don't have a visual inspection won't care if you can pass the sniffer though.

Get rid of them....I think the sound is better without them....Cats make an exhaust sound muffled to me. I have had mostly non-catted cars of the 60's...more legal=yes...ALL Long Tubes are ILLEGAL also, as stated above.

I know! I wouldn't have a problem keeping my car "legal" but it came down to $200 for XR-1s for $200 for cats. Can you guess which one I went for
