I know this is been beat to death , But what is the best way to get rid of this horrable rasp , It sounds so bad even my kids won't ride in the car now ! I have mac mid headers and off road y pipe through a single one chamber flowmaster muffler and single tip ! Would one bullet muffler in the intermedite pipe do It , Or what about replaceing my muffler ! What has worked for you guys ????

I think most people are putting a bullet in the I-pipe to get rid of the rasp. I've got the same problem now too after getting my Hooker LT's and ory pipe. My frieds all call my car "The Truck" now because of the exhaust sound. It's ok though, cause that's all they ever hear...

A bullet muffler will help a lot with the rasp. My future exhaust setup will be MAC headers, off-road Y, Dynomax bullet in intermediate pipe, and a Magnaflow muffler. Should sound awesome!

bullets in the intermediate muffle the rasp. dual bullets (one on each leg of the y-pipe) kill the rasp <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I have a Stainess Steel Vortex 3" Cone Muffler which goes in where the Y-Pipe meets the I-Pipe. I didn't use it, but instead went with Random Tech Cats.
It's available to you- for a mere $50! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Drew,
The rasp was gone after that. It was originally a Grot Y that I cut up and grafted my own tubing to. Fitting 3" tubing under the car will be a task. Its not impossible, but its not easy. There is a fine line on a lowered car - too low= scrape.....Too high= frame= KR.

if the Y pipe is too low, on a lowered car of course, it will scrape over some speed bumps. If the Y pipe is too high in relation to the car, it will bang the floorboard. This banging will trigger the Knock Sensors, thus killing some HP.
