What would be worth more as a mod????
Would i be better off saving and doing a converter, shift kit, and tranny cooler, OR a Cam Swap? and also i was wondering if anyone could give me an idea to what little HP ive gained by my current mods (in Sig) Oh and did the 99Z come with 305 or 310 HP?
Thanks,

i'd do the converter. why? simplicity.
once you start going into the motor, things like reliability start to go out the window. so many more problems can arise from a cam swap then from a converter swap. i'm not saying ALL cam'd cars are bad, i'm just saying the chances are greater than if the motor was left stock. that's my opinion.

ps-guess what i did first <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

If i were to go that route, then what stall converter would be a good everday driver that i can bring to the track on the weekends?

well, everyone has their own preference in terms of what streetability is. you have to ask yourself what you want to do with the car mod wise, if you are ever going to put nitrous on it, etc.... i went with a Precision Industries Vigilante 3200. nice and simple for daily driving, and worked great at the track. with air lid, exhaust, converter, full weight car on e.t. streets, i went a best of 12.65 at 106mph. there are other converters that would work just as well. Yank, Midwest, Precision Industries all make great converters. put up a post in the tranny section about this as the guys in there would know a lot better than me. also, do a search on converters for street use in that forum and a lot of your questions may be answered in those topics.

I like cams but if had a A4. My first mod would be a lid. 2nd A Converter. A Coverter is one of the biggest performance mods for a A4 <img border="0" alt="[Burnout]" title="" src="graemlins/burnout.gif" />

I would go into the motor last, after all the bolt-on's were on.

Re: What would be worth more as a mod????
Thanks for the input guys, i think ill set my sights on the converter, but also i was wondering what it feels like to drive a car with like a 3200 stall converter? is it hard getting used to giving more gas to allow the car to move or is it not all that big a deal?

In other words it kind of tightens the convertor up a little.
If you go with a cam you'll need to change the converter anyway(or to get the best results)
