Default Were to weld a bung for LC-1?

Were is the best place to weld the bung for a wide band sensor? The instructions say 9:00 O'clock to 3:00 O'clock. But were? After the stock o2? Right beside it?

And how about mounting the controller? Inside the car or out side the car like the instructions say?

It's got to be right! I do not want to screw these up!

The fact that youve got cutouts in front of the Merge really throws a curveball into the mix. I put mine right in the center of my X pipe, and I welded my buddy's right into the collector on my his Y pipe. I would have suggested putting it at the Y for a couple of reasons. First it will read from both banks. Secondly, It will be far enough downstream that It wont burn the o2 sensor out. Unfortunately with the cutouts, even closed they can introduce oxygen into the exhaust, skewing the readings. How far off theyre going to be depends on how perfect the seal is. Also, I dont know if it would pose a problem if the wideband was plugged in, but the cutouts were open while you wernt logging. I dont think that constant lean reading should do anything, but i cant be sure...

I would say that you could use block off plates instead of cutouts while you tune, then switch it over when youre done. Or maybe you wont even have a problem with the cutouts. In any case, id still put it in the Y merge.

OK here is what I did with mine, I put my bung in the y pipe where it connects to the driver side header, I didnt want to ruin my coating on my headers, I screwed my lc1 into my original o2 bung, and put the 02 sensor in the new bung in the y-pipe, I had the new bung welding in the 3 oclock position, which is fine. Hope this makes sense !

Wherever you decide to mount the bung, make sure there are absolutely NO exhaust leaks upstream from it. Even a pinhole will throw your wideband readings off. Took me a while to figure this out.

That sounds good. How far back did you weld the second bung for the stock o2? Did it make it not read right? Being farther back?

And when you say 3 O'clock are you talking towards the out side or in side of the vehicle?

This could be a problem. Everything must be really tight!
