Had one on my 97 Z28. Best sounding exhaust I've ever heard, IMO.
Anyone have/hear it on an LS1 (no headers) ?
feedback appreciated.

Sorry, never heard it on an LS1(although a couple local guys used to have it). But I will agree, it is easily one of the best sounding exhaust I've ever heard on an LT1 F-body. Obviously, it won't sound nearly as good on an LS1.

I have the SLP 2OTL on my '99 SS. I don't have any clips for you but I think it sounds great.
Throaty rumble at idle. Not loud at all until you get on it above 3500 RPM or so - then it screams.
Apparently flows pretty well, too, with its straight-through design. Some guy a couple years ago dynoed it against a cutout and there was only about a 3HP difference on an otherwise stock exhaust.

I've got one. I had it on my '99 Z and liked it so much I put it on my '02 Z when I traded my '99 Z. It sounds good, kind of throaty around town but not obnoxious...very livable for everyday driving. It's quiet on the highway..no drone or excessive cabin noise. It does wake up about 3,000 RPM. Everyone will know when you open it up.
I've been pleased with mine. I'd buy it again. Good power, nice sound, good price...what more do you want?

Do you guys have a dent in the over the axle loop at the PHB support brace ? Mine came that way and it looks it's there by design. Just wondering how much I'm giving up becouse of that and if it's supposed to be there.

I am really happy with mine. I have headers and no cats and it's still fine at low rpms....nice rumble, but not too loud. No rasp at all. Stomp the gas and it comes alive.

Just buy one allready It sounds pretty good on an LS1. Makes it much better to drive around in... but my gas mileage has suffered. I tend to keep it in a lower gear just to hear it now.

wow, and all this time I thought I was the only one out here with 2OTL on an LS1 I have an offroad pipe and it reeeaaaallly sounds good. Not too obnoxious, and a little rasp around 2300rpm, but not bad at all. Definently get one. oh, and yes mine came with a dent where it goes over the axle.

You'll never get the 2OTL sound on the LS1 like the LT1...
Different block, different firing order...
I have it on the LS1... it sounds ok... I do only have stock manifolds/cats so perhaps with headers it might sound better...

Yes, you're right about that.
I had the 2OTL on my 97Z with Hot cam kit and SLP shorties
By adding headers and changing to 20TL from the slowmaster cat back, i went from 300 to 326 HP and 330 TQ. Sound was awesome and no resonation.
Left the 2OTL on when i did a GTP H/C on a 396.
Hookers, !cats Oh my. That GTP6 cam is a *****.
I run a LM on my hawk now. Put the SLP Y pipe on and that MAY have deepened the tone some but lots have said mine sounds far better than other LMs they've heard (deeper).
I LIKE the LM, but loved that 20TL. Maybe I can hear one when i goto Vegas this weekend.
Thanks all.

02 'Hawk...I too put an SLP Y-pipe on my old 2000 Z28 that already had the LM on it and there was no noticeable change in exhaust tone IMHO. Sounded virtually the same too me both inside and outside the car.
If you really want the SLP 20TL, get it. Like already mentioned, it won't sound anything like an LT1, but I'm sure it will still sound good enough on an LS1. And besides, I personally think the LM sounds like A$$ on LS1's.

Yes i have a 2002 z28 with 323 axle ratio and a A4 tranny. I just got my slp 2OTL exhaust Monday O ct 14 and installed that same nite. I was worried about the sound at higher speeds like 70 - 80 mph but it is fine. I really like the sound it is quiet at steady speeds but louder under acceleration and wot, just rite for me. I have e-mailed almost every name on this thread in the past weeks about this exhaust you might remember all my questions about it. Dave S. from Kansas City Mo. Thanks for all the help on this subject.
