Mine quiets down after it's been running for a while, cold start is louder than warm.

gmmg is basically a tuffed up, ribbed straight pipe. it'll basically be louder than a muffler but not as loud as straightpipe. so yea, it's pretty loud in comparison to say, magnaflow, corsa, borla, hooker...the only exhaust louder is SLP LM1, but it'll sound a lot better. SLP LM1 in my opinion is one of the worst sounding, ugliest exhaust setups out there. i'd go as far to say an LS1 with a LM1 is one of the worst sounding V8's out there, sorry guys, no offense. like, it doesn't sound a whole lot better than my 6'er. gmmg is your best loud/sound combination with the exception of true duals.

I had one (sold the car ), the GMMG Chambered exhaust is THE sweetest sounding cat back for the LS1, hands down. Quite loud, but not enough to really **** off the neighbors. But that sound, man oh man! Sweet thunder! I liked to compare it to WWII fighter planes. Toss the stereo if you go GMMG, you will not need it, LOL!

I don't consider mine to be too loud. Infact, I consider it to be quiet, but then again a car isn't loud unless it hurts my ears.

I got my GMMG installed last week, with LT and catted Y. The car sounds badass. I have not turned my radio on yet.

Owner here. Kooks pluas a catted-Y in front of it and it sounds wicked. Loud and Nasty. No drone, not bad under normal driving. Step on it and it roars....

Just put one on my Hawk this morning, LOVE IT!! Pretty tame at idle but give her some gas and it comes to life.

Best catback IMO. While I got the GMMG first, I've heard other LS1s on stock manifold and stock cats with different catback systems that don't sound nowhere near as good as my car. I'm waiting to put LTs in, but on stock mani/cats, GMMG is downright AWESOME.

I love the way my GMMG sounds through longtubes and cats. It's a little on the loud side for me, at idle and WOT. It just makes me a little nervous when I pull up alongside a cop. It does sound great though, with little to no drone at all. It's not too loud in the cabin, but from the back it's LOUD!!
