Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
I have a car here, and it is on its second muffler in 1-2 months, and its ready for a third, seems these damn mufflers are falling apart in about a weeks time. so corsa has been dealing with us, and thats great, but I don't appreciate thier customer service implying that my cars tuning and other mods are causing these mufflers to fail, thats just some bullshit right there, if the muffler is on thier "900 hp race car" then it can handle a 500 hp street car! it shouldnt matter if the car is using nitrous turbo or a blower, just weld something that is gonna hold up jeeze!
I love the way the car sounds when its not a freaking rattle trap and we will try the third muffler but if that one fails we are just gonna have to go with someone else.
I am not bashing Corsa, but I just want some people to know there is a bit a QC problem over there, and they are not alone if they are having problems as well.

This appears to be quite the common problem. I am on my second, but I have not been able to drive the car yet with it on. Hopefully I won't have that problem again. If you have to get another brand muffler, what the hell is the point of having the $700+ exhaust system? For the tips alone? I think NOT! Come on Corsa, get it right.

I have about 14000 miles in about 11 months on mine so far and it is still hanging in there. It is a little louder since I got the FLP's on there. Hope it continues to hold up.

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
TTT thought I would bring this thread to the surface, the car has now broken the 3rd muffler and we are now on ther 4th one. its funny I have friends with corsa catback and thier catback has been perfect from day 1. from this thread alone, you can see I am not the only one with this problem, anyone else have any problems post em up here, maybe you can give me some hope that I will get a muffler that works.
BTW corsa is standing behind thier warranty 100 percent and thats great, but eventually it would probably be cheaper to give a refund!

I know, because I would think that the muffler and the tips are what makes it so expensive. I bet it has to do with how hard you drive your car. Obviously, the harder you drive, the more forceful the exhaust is going to go through the muffler.

It sounds like tin cans in it when it goes.Just replaced mine (2nd return) and I forgot how nice it sounds not broken..They need to address this problem, this new muffler is not much better than the old.I know I'll need another one in the spring

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
I am on my third as well. The seam cracked where the exhaust pipe goes into the muffler on the first one. The second one lasted 500 miles if that before it was a rattle trap. A weld on a baffle must have broke loose or something. I don't have too many miles on this one. I hope it holds in there. Their customer service is great though....

I would think they would want to do something about it, since they have to replace them, plus pay the shipping. They will start losing sooner or later.

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
There are enough people here with problems that they will never be able to say that is our car or that we welded it on which is causing them to break. corsa if they don't get it right when they do(if they do)

At $700.00 a crack, they can afford to replace quite a few. Think about it, how much could it actually cost to manufacture a muffler???

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
Where were the orginal Corsas purchased?
Sometimes, the highest quailty stuff goes to the big name shops that sell these things by the tractor trailer load. The big sellers can and do demand the highest quality. Sometimes that leaves the 2nd tier resellers, small shops, and the warranty claims getting the remaining product.
Maybe Corea identifed a bad production lot of mufflers. Why not just send the folks with a warranty problems the ones that are of questionable quailty until all of the bad lot's is used up? That way Corsa can use up the questionable product and not pi$$ off any new customers. If someones already got a bad Corsa, Corsa probably figures they aren't getting any repeat business, so why not send seconds as warranty parts?

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
My second one is in the mail right now. I WAS hoping that this would end the nigtmare, but I guess not. I bought the best because I wanted no problems and great sound, I got niether. On a side note, they do give great customer service. They are paying shipping to and fro which is good, but I would rather not get a new muffler every 4 months.

Re: Will Corsa ever get it right? update 3 broken mufflers
You guy's are a HELLUVA lot nicer than me. If I paid someone the rediculous amount of 700 bucks for an exhaust system, and had to replace the muffler every six months somebody would be pulling a broken muffler out of their nose! That is absolutely rediculous IMO. Regardless if Corsa is standing behind their product or not, obviously they aren't "getting it right" if they're constantly replacing mufflers. For 700 bucks, they should be sending someone out there to kiss your feet and then install your muffler for you. You guys are way to nice. Just my 2 pennies...
