Angle the TB so its open at idle and idles at like 1100. No one will konw. I have hooker headers and ORY and people ask me if i have a cam. I tell them not yet trust me they will know i have a cam. No going small for me.

You can hear the cam lope pretty easily whether your exhaust is dead quiet or way loud.

Easiest way to cover it up is to raise the idle speed. Those in the know will still notice it, but it's a little more subtle.

Does it not get louder when you raise the rpms?

It'll get a little louder, but cam lope decreases with higher rpm.

I dont care what it sounds like while im moving, Imv just worried about it at idle. The thing is my dad dosent want me to get a cam, but he dosent live with me so he wont know if the car goes in the shop, my mom dosent really care. My dad knows cars. What he dosent know is the LS1 engine so I can say its the cat back. Im looking at the TR220 on a 114LSA, I want the 112LSA but it depends on if I can cover it up.

You won't be able to cover any cam on a 112 LSA up. I have the TR220/114 cam, and while it doesn't lope a lot, the idle is choppy and it got a lot louder with the cam (had the stock manifolds/cats and a Hooker catback). With FLP's, ORY and the Hooker, there is no hiding it at the stock idle:

Except I still live with the 'rents, although I'll probably be moving out by January and wanted to get a cam/headers in spring with income tax returns. I was looking at the TR224/112lsa .56x lift

Haha...I was running a TR224 w/ a 112lsa in my car...my father didn't know I had a cam in it (I was running mac headers w/ ORY and a cutout). The reason is that he owns a '67 RS/SS Camaro 396 that is more "off" than "on" when it lopes. Basically, my car sounds stock compared to it.

So does anyone think I can make it with a 230/224 reverse split on a 114lsa.

Run it through your stock muffler, and he won't tell. I didn't even have to raise the idle. It is actually very hard to tell a 112lsa cam in when you running your stock catback. You pretty much have to go up to the tail pipes, and you can hear it. The vibration of the shifter might give it away.
