Question about stock SS exhaust vs SLP Dual-Dual
Okay, here was my setup: cam, mac headers, ORY, stock SS exhaust, cutout. Now, whenever I capped the cutout, it sounded almost stock. It wasn't loud AT ALL! I hear a bunch of people running the SLP Dual-Dual exhaust w/ headers/ORY. Will they actually be louder than the setup I was running( cutout capped)?...I would certainly hope so because most people couldn't tell I was not stock (even with a 112lsa).

Re: Question about stock SS exhaust vs SLP Dual-Dual
Hate to tell you this, but it won't really be any louder than the stock SS exhaust you already have(maybe a bit louder at WOT). The SLP dual/dual is easily the quietest aftermarket cat-back available hands down. I've heard it before plenty of times and it is no louder at idle, cruise, or even(mostly) WOT as compared to a stock SS or WS6 exhaust. Most people go with the SLP dual/dual because it is very quiet and sounds good without cats. If you want to hear the lope of your cam through your cat-back you'll need a louder one than the stock SS or SLP dual/dual.

The "new" SLP dual dual is a bit louder than the ones that came stock on the SLP cars. I personally like the sound of it - rumble, but not obnoxious. However if you want to be noticed I'd suggest a GMMG.

Re: Question about stock SS exhaust vs SLP Dual-Dual
I have the SLP Dual/Dual with Lt's, ORP's and TR 224/112. At idle, it's only slightly different than stock; at WOT, it's louder than stock, but not loud enough. I plan on a muffler change.

SLP dual/dual is my favorite cat back of all because it's nice and quite. Perfect for helping hide a loping cam.
The perfect catback in my book would be a SLP dual/dual with the SLP tips cut off and replaced with a set of nice looking Corsa tips.

Yup, the dual/dual is quiet...thats why I got it. I have Hookers and ORY and at idle, its a little louder than stock and at WOT is considerably louder. It definitely does not sound like stock but its definitely quieter than all the other catbacks. And yes, the new dual/dual is a little louder and has a nice little rumble to it

Re: Question about stock SS exhaust vs SLP Dual-Dual
How much is the new dual-dual and where can I find it? Also, how much HP would I be losing compared to running a cutout on this setup: LS6 cam, mac headers, Ypipe (gutted cats), lid, tb.

"New" just refers to the LS1 model I think. They are pricey ($5XX). I got mine for $350 in box but that was a steal. A lot of people sell them cuz they're too quiet so keep a look out. I plan on a QTEC so I can have the best of both worlds.
