Default what sparkplugs are best?

I have a stock 99 z28 and was wondering if any plug was better than another?

Welcome to LS1Tech! Many folks like NGK TR-55s gapped at about .050-.055.

Hardcore racers change plugs more frequently than humans do. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> If your car is a daily-driver then you should use the platinum plugs recommended by GM - ACDelco 41-947s. There is much controversy about this but there should not be.

When I went to AutoZone the AC Delco stock plugs were $5.99 each. They had a platinum Boush plug that was similar to the Platinum +4 except it was not pregapped for $1.99. I bought those and they worked out fine. I have been told the TR-55's only last for 10,000 miles.

i know one thing the stock ones suck. 100,000 mile plugs my a$$. i changed mine at 50,000 miles and only 2 still had the platinum discs and they were gapped anywhere from .55 to .75. most of the other people that have changed theres can say the same thing. platinum plugs aren't that good from my experience.

My stock AC Delco were landed at .085 gap after 45,000 kilometers,not very good.Would never have made it to 100k.

I put a set of the Denso Iriduims in and I'm pleased w/ the results.

same here, a lot of master performance engine builders use denso irridiums.
there pricy but they will conduct electricity better, and desapate heat better
than most plugs, that will help prevent detonation, and will open the door for more compression.
ngk solid core platinums are a little cheaper and are good.
bosch platinums are a lot cheaper and are good, just in some cases
they may foul out, but i have run them without any problems.
just depends on how much you want to pay, what you use the car for ( daliy driver, or racing ) that the plugs go in.

tr-55's on n/a engines from what ive seen . what ever you get ditch the factory platinum's my tuner wont touch a car with stock plugs, plus ngks are only about 2.00 each
