Default Tensioner Problems?HELP!

I have Just put a new crank Pulley on and if I drive real hard the 6 rib belt on ps pulley and the tensioner half comes off towards the radiator side of the pulleys the belt stays on the crank. Is my tensioner at fault or is my pulley nose not far in enough its about 1/4inch out from box and will not go in any further and is lined up with other pulley well so I thought.Should I be able to see any of the crank pulley nose or should it be right in?

I hope someone comes along that knows for sure but it sounds like you do not have the crank pulley seated properly. 1/4" is a lot.

OTOH, I think there are aftermarket tensioners that have a larger lip for better belt retention.

wow, I just noticed you are in Japan. Bonsai!

yes it does.....it does now a NICE deep ribbed one!! check it out at Katech..its new

also, the ud pulley will not sit flush against the block...it does sit off just slightly, granted you put the required 240 lbs of torque on it...it is DEF the tensioner...it isnt the ps pulley because the ps pulley has no play in it, but that tensioner, well it does, and since your reving quicker now, you must compensate with a stronger, tighter tensioner...
you can go two routes..

Go to Advance and pick a Buick Regal tensioner pulley...forgot what year though sorry, its slightly larger in diameter and holds the belt

Or pick up a solid tensioner from Katech or other sponsors....youll NEVER look back at 6k RPMS!

good luck
e

anyone chime in if i made any errors...thanks

Not sure which one of you I just talked to, but thanks for the orders guys. Yes, they DO come with a high-sidewall pulley now installed and ready to go. They are also available in a limited edition blue and red while supplies last. If anybody else wants one give me a call 866-KATECH1

Thanks guys!

you guys should try a gatorback belt before. that cured my problems. worth a shot. you can still use the belt if it doesnt work. they told me i needed a new tensioner and i obviously didnt.
