Speed,Inc true duals
Is anyone running their true dual setup? Looks like a nice setup. Are the pipes stainless? Is there any real advantage running this system over a high flow single exhaust?

I dont think I could justify paying that much for that set-up, yea it sounds good and all but its still now way that I could shove out that kind of noney

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
I have heard Tom Izzo's (Speed Inc owner) SS in person many times with this system on it. It sounds perfect! I guess the extra cubes and blower help that sound along as well though...

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
There is a lot of welding and pipe bending for that system to be assembled, not to mention he uses ATR mufflers that are at least $100 a piece and pretty expensive tips too.
When you figure that some of the catbacks out there are $700+, $1200 is not too bad for a true dual system exiting at the rear of the car, using top quality mufflers, and high quality tips. Also, you really would not beleive how well this system tucks up under the car when you see it in person. My Bassani stock-style Y-pipe hangs lower in some areas than any part of this system...

It's mostly an advantage on higher hp, larger CI setups. My old 383 LT1 made 453rwhp 416rwtq through a similar setup.

We only do them in-house. I can make them split before the axle. That's how it's done on our shop car.
It just gets a bit more complicated because the electrical connectors for abs/fuel tank are on the drivers side, along with the fuel lines and rear brake hose.

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
Well I do have heads/cam already, plus I'll be running 7#'s of boost. So would I benefit from this system? Is it stainless or aluminized? And how loud is it? I love the way it looks though. I mean if I can gain like 20 rwhp over my borla once the ATI is installed, I just might have to look into this setup.

Our shop car made over 700rwhp through that setup, and my car made 634rwhp through a similar setup. I can't say how much it's worth over a single exhaust, because we've never done a back to back comparison. Doesn't seem to be holding the cars back though .
The shop car is relatively loud, but not obnoxious like a loudmouth. The Trans Am in the pictures is a cam/heads car and was quieter than most aftermarket cat-backs IMO. Sounds deep/smooth, not raspy.
edit: The pipes are aluminized. The exhaust on my car hasn't rusted in 2 years, but it doesn't see bad weather often.

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
Not knocking ya dude, but my 3" true dual with Dr. Gas X-pipe and 2 Flowmaster 1 chamber Delta Force (the race mufflers, not the cheap delta flow) mufflers, all mandrel (made from prebent mandrel bends because no mandrel shop on this side of FL) only cost me $500 total. Thats parts and all 5 hrs worth of work, but it does dump at the axel. The dumps are aimed behind the back tires and I DO NOT get any smell or anything in the car. Crusing at 80 MPH and its quieter than it was stock. Clearence was the same as the 3" y-pipe.
If people are paying $1200, then more power to ya

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
You get what you pay for.
The over the axle part is the hardest. That takes alot of time to get right.
Call for an "up to the axle" setup. 3" X pipe to dynomax bullet mufflers with 3" turndowns for $549.99 2.5" for more groundclearance $529.99
Quoted from their site
Speed Inc does nothing but TOP quality work too so the welds are probably perfect.
Look at the pics on their site, the axle part is not easy.

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
It sounds AWSOME! Well worth the money. It fits under the car nice. Not too loud, Very nice job. You have to hear it!!! I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a cat back, I hate the way the single system sounds.

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
I saw a the true dual setup on a black WS6 at speed inc.
The setup looked really good, very nice, didn't get to hear it though, it was still in the process of being put together...

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
Ive been thinking about this all day, and now I think i can justify it. it replaces everything up to the collectors so think of it like this. Grott coated y-pipe good 300 plus a good cat back is like 700, so your already at 1000, so its not really that bad at all. **** if I had the money id go for it

Re: Speed,Inc true duals
Hooker catback and orp...all Jet Hot coated...cost me $477 + $250 shipped! Looks awesome and flows great for a H/C setup.
Add Jet Hot's LT's for $567 and you have what I believe to be the best sounding, priced, and looking system for about $1300. That is a "no-brainer". BTW, Hooker's tips freakin' rock...3" dual/duals. I spent $100 on my Meg's oval tips and now are looking pretty on a shelf...
