Default Intake swap on an A4

Can you swap the intake maniflod on an Auto with the tranny dipstick tube in place? Just from looking at it I am not sure it would clear and that dipstik tube bolt is a PITA to get to!!

The dipstick isn't in the way at all. The intake comes foward before it comes up. Just remember to raise it about an inch up before coming forward to clear the oil pressure sending unit.

You can give the dipstick tube a slight shove to move it the hell out of the way too.

+1

so far this car's dipstick tube has been raped a couple times. header install and intake swap both...it helps moving it out of the way for either account.

a friend of mine has a th350 in his 99 z, the dipstick tube is in the cabin, right next to the shifter yeah..it looks kind of goofy. also the floormat poses as a shift boot/hole cover where the console once resided.

but i guess you gotta do what ya gotta do, eh?

the tranny dipstick has a 15mm bolt thats it attached to the back of the passenger head. once u undo that it moves VERY easy out of the way because it rocks in the little rubber grommet in the tranny. If you just shove it somethin on the dipstick will bend.

Crap!! I broke an intake bolt. Since I did not have an inch pounds I used my torque wrench and set it to 10ft lbs and it snapped a bolt off in the head! Anyone got a part number for a new set of intake bolts?

No, I need the bolts that hold the intake on, not head bolts.
