the way that i did it under was having the rear pipe being able to clamp on and off, so when ever i need to do that i just unbolt the clamps and slide the pipes off and i have access to my rear suspension, pretty easy. and i didnt loose any ground clearence either since anytime the rear has to go over a bump, it raises the body also raising the exhaust

there is, but there is some modificationg that you have to take care of first, if you search on this thread a few pages back you'll see a guy that included pictures on what you had to move to make it work

It's very doable on the drivers side. Guys have done it with 3" pipe, but 2 1/2" was enough trouble for me. I did the same as Mark did in the following thread, made a spacer to fit between the plug harness and the floorpan. It made the harness sit 1 1/2" deeper inside the car and moved the wires farther away from the pipe on that side. I also purchased a longer flex brake line that goes from the chassis to the rearend to get it out of the way of the pipe. If you can weld and have a lot of patience and a pile of bends, you can do it. Most muffler shops won't touch it on that side. They would rather bring both pipes over the passenger side which is much easier to do.

No it wont physically hurt the car or its health. It would be better if you got the car tuned with having them out though.

True Duals with bodymount Torque Arm
Replaced stock torque arm with one from UMI the body mount that is supposed to fit with Pacesetter LT's and Y, but I dont think it was supposed to fit with a catted Y. Oh well True Duals are better anyway. I bought the flowmaster flange kit 3" to 2.5" and had it welded onto the magnaflow cats. 2.5" pipe all of the way back to the Summit Racing H-pipe kit into 2 Dynomax bullets. The parts from Summit cost $174 and the installation cost $200. All the work was done at Apache Muffler Inc. in Mesa AZ, good shop.

I didn't see that this was said yet but if you get the duals all the way to the back over the passenger side of the axle it is also a good idea to see if the shop fab'in them up will put a flange before it goes over the axle, if you ever need to change your fuel pump you will be hella glad you did, maybe add that to the faq?
I had some under the axle and over, under the axle wasn't a problem even on a lowered car for clearance but having to take off my exhaust whenever it went on a lift got old very fast, it is really worth getting it over the axle

I guess the big question is, Which torque arm has the most clearance on their crossbrace/tunnel brace? I've been looking at the Global West Torque Arm, and there is no crossbrace and is an interesting setup. Anyone have any experience with this torque arm? I've heard that it causes a lot more road noise compared to others. Anyways, looking to get a true-duals setup over the axles with BMR PHB relocation kit, and a tunnel/crossbrace/globalwest torque arm. Any good shops in the Southeast, MI area that I could take my car to?
Thanks a lot,

well everyone has a different set up, but it also seems like everyone is sacrificing ground clearence, or improper design. mine are barely visible from side view and are tucked up nicely, u can see the mufflers from the rear and the dumps. ill get a pic up soon.

THE BIG " H-PIPE " TRUE DUAL SYSTEM

Mufflers are 18" Sweet Thunder and I love em I would describe the sound as a more quality and refined SLP loudmouth rumble. All bends are crushed.
Now this is the set up I've dreamed about having. I KNOW that this set up sounds better than any other system now on the market for LS1 cars.

This is my TD setup designed on a 97 SS. My goal in designing this system was to create as much ground clearance as possible. I put about 15 hours in designing it to fit and utilize a frame mounted torque arm with a driveshaft safety loop. The only difference in this system as compared to a 98 and up, is the X-pipe forward.
After I was finished with it and heading home, I got hit head on and the crash destroyed most of it.
Keep in mind that this is only a proto-type and may soon be into production made of stainless steel!
This is the system taken off after the car was totaled.
Here you can see where I ran one of the pipes almost on top of the other to gain a small but noticable amount of clearance.
Keep in mind that the system had been tweaked from the accident!
