Default hooker exhaust too noisy

I've had this dumb muffler/exhaust for two years now and I am getting tired of the noise.

What can I do?

You do know hooker is probbly one of if not the quietest aftermarket exhausts on the market.

Only idea other then stock would be SLP dual dual.

I don't know how people don't like this exhaust..

Either that or maybe gives us a little more info about what you don't like and don't want and then what you DO want or like.

Or maybe not be quit so lazy and actually use the mouse to click on a few sponsors websites and see what options there

I don't see how someone doesn't like this exhaust?? Its got no rasp, nice smooth deep tone, quiet cruising & loud @ WOT. It almost perfect for a daily driver.

he's got 2 options:

-stock catback
-SLP dual/dual

i love the SLP dual/dual's tone, sounds mustang-like. however, i do sometimes pine for something more...obnoxious...like some out the back true duals...that i can't afford...

You could add a resonator ahead of the muffler...that would help some at the expense of some exhaust flow.

Other option is to buy a nice slow honda (with no fart cannon of course)

SLP Dual/Dual is what you want. They are not in production anymore, but you should be able to pick up a used one.

Im in a dilema of either getting a cutout or swapping out my Crapmaster for a Hooker.... The cutout would be the cheapest bet...

I also have a crapmaster and have also considered the swap to the hooker. It is an American Muscle. Its gonna be loud. But there is another option. I got a 1995 saturn. Its not very loud if you wanna trade.

24"Dynomax in the I pipe. It will quiet things down and almost eliminate the rasp.

I am running FLP cats that also suk too. Frankly, of all the tons of MODs I have, I only regret LT headers and the Hooker catback muff.

I honestly believe the extra power from LTs and screaming muffs is MINIMAL since the stock exhaust on F-bodies is OK. I thought I read an article in GM High Performance that did dyno tests and concluded this.

From my experience, the rasp everyone hates is a function of the stock LS1 head. I installed headers and a Y-pipe with the hooker muff and got the classic crappy rasp sound.

As soon as I went to ported LS6 heads, however, the rasp sound dissappeared.

I need a queit exhaust so I can leave the house at 5AM to play golf without waking the dead!

How is the best way to get a pre-owned SLP dual/dual? I need all the brackets and stuff - no cut and paste junk please.
