it's got to be considerably louder than stock...

but not much is going to be screaming loud unless you take off the cats.

Do you have an aftermarket intake? that will make it louder alot of times...

Maybe your cats are a little cloged?

I think he's talking about idle. It won't be "loud" per say, untill you stick a cam in it. And then, it'll have a bigger better noise. But you'll still want to rip out the cats.

funny thing how open exhausts work, they aren't loud until you hit the right harmonic frequency. My LS1 had MAC midlengths, ORY, and dumped out of a cutout, it made almost no sound below 2000 RPM, 2000-2500 it was obnoxious, 2500+ it SCREAMED and sounded mean as ****. My IROC was a built 350 with LTs going into true duals and bullets dumping before the axle and it was ultra quiet below 2200 rpm, but then it sounded like an Indy car.

I have the slp loud mouth on my ( other than the exhaust) stock SS and at idle its pretty tame but above 2,000 rpm it starts screaming.

i have cam/full exhaust and i have LM1 and it doesn't sound much louder than my 80 series flows at idle but when you get past 3k it opens up. The LM is basically straight pipes so you must be used to open headers lol

Maybe im the weird one but I have a LM on all stock exhaust and mine seems that it has gotten a bit louder than it did when put on. Ive had mine on about 3 years now. I love it to death. especially wide open.

Put some longtubes on it, and put a cam in it. Then you can hear it at idle, definitely when you get on it. I heard a loudmouth on a stock Camaro this week, I forgot just how quiet it really is on a stock car. Couldn't even really hear it, I've gotten use to my set-up.
