Also the K&N filter is easier to get off, since I have Hooker LT's. Thats the only reason I buy them over an ACdelco.

if its crap why do so many people purchase it?ive had one in every vehicle ive ever owned.i live in a mountain area and ive never had a problem.if you want to feel a hp gain install one in an atv(4 wheeler).but everyone has there own opinion.if dirt were going thru it it wasnt properly oiled.

Solid information? How about I've never had any problems with any oil filter I've ever bought (fram, purolator, ac delco, etc) and the last part was a joke that I guess fell on deaf ears.

People are so serious when it comes to their k&n. lol I guess they are mad that they got ripped off.

People buy the k&n oil filter because it says performance on the side of it.

You know whats funny, All these people saying K&N are crap, and I still havn't seen any proof that paper is better, not one test, not one review, not one educated example.
SO this post means exactly NOTHING.

This first one seems like a good test, I just don't know of any of the other filters.

The second I think is ok, but he tested it by driving for 500 miles whic I think is a bad idea because of the variations you would get in environment.

The first test didnt have a paper filter to compare to, so why did you even bother posting it?

The second one is a better test, and it still shows that the Kn is letting dirt and everything through and he assued you that it was serviced properly.

There is two I found. The second one didn't get a chance to test paper. There is alot of filter through though. Alot of forums are discussing this.

I bothered posting it because I think foam filters came into subject somewhere in this post, so I thought it was a relevant test to what we are discussing.

Its hard to find anything because this is argued like 300 times a year on every car forum.

Truth is unless there is nothing else left to modify and you really need every last bit of air then a k&n type filter will help.

In order for it to flow more it will let more particles through. Paper flows less so it lets less particles through.

However its a marginaly difference in power and not worth the money. But they to each his own.

I would say that a good 90% of them flow in, swirl around in the intake, then into the combustion chambers (thats if they don't find a nice little nook to nest in the intake), then swirl around in the cylinder, and then out the exhaust.
