Exhuast options
RIght now I have QTP longtubes and TSP Trueduals with the bullet mufflers. I don't really like the way it sounds. What options due I have to run as far as a y-pipe and catback? What are some good sounding catbacks that won't hurt my performance?

go 2 Ls1sounds.com U can hear all the exhaust, borla, gmmg, corsa, bassani, ect....
If you want good sound plus good performance then u cant go cheap, I would suggest Borla, or Corsa. Borla has a meaner side and defeitly noticable. But I personally Like corsa. Not as loud but if ur gettin a cam and don't want it insanely loud but still mean and muscular and noticable. Corsa's exhaust look is 1 of my fav's.

It's surprising you don't like the way it sounds, usually true duals sound the best.
Now if you are weary that is is too loud, that is another story.
For options on a y-pipe and catback, if I were you, I would have a custom ypipe made with a good 3" collector, and have it run back to a Magnaflow muffler purchased separately. It would be the same as a catback ypipe setup, but since it would be mostly custom made (and easy to make) it would cost a lot less fortunately. Plus Magnaflow has a nice refined sound to it, that doesn't cost any hp.
You could search the for sale section also, and look for a used Magnaflow catback, to go with a custom ypipe. There are other catbacks that are just as good, but I like Magnaflow because of the refined sound and musclecar nice sound it has, plus good performance. Even a new Magnaflow catback doesn't break the bank very much and is very affordable.
As another option, you could have your current true duals custom run out the back, which would be less loud, but you need to find someone good at mandrel pipe bending for that.
Of course if you have disposible cash you could always get a QTP ypipe and Magnaflow catback but that would be much more expensive and not perform any better than a custom setup. I would run a custom setup with a Magnaflow muffler and a flowmaster collector, best performance out of a ypipe catback setup for not a lot of dough.
