Default MTI Clear Lid fitment

I was wondering how the fitment of the clear MTI lid is/was for all of you who have it, i just received mine and am having a hell of a time installing it, I've come to realize that the tabs on the rear of the lid don't seem to line up with the holes there supposed to slide into on the radiator shroud, I'll be calling MTI later but was just curious if this has happened before and if buying the black one would be a better bet, thanks

I've heard of a few people having issues with it, mine popped on with out a hint of problematic behavoir.

Oddly, all the problems seem to be with the clear lids, from what i've seen on this site. Mine is over a year old now still looks like new and can take off and pop on in a few seconds.

I had issues with my clear lid.
MTI was VERY reluctant to replace it, however they did.
I was told if I didn't like the fit I should have called as soon as I recieved it and they would have replaced it no problem.

Definitely call MTI.

Did they replace it with another clear lid that fit or did you opt for the black or carbon fiber one? Thanks for your help I received it friday tried installing on Sunday and i will be calling them within the hour, it's the earliest I could get a hold of them

its problems with installation, not with the lid.

smooth bellows always present a problem. the fitment issues you are dealing with are the same on all lids, some people can get them easily, some people have problems.. push the tabs in the back down first.

i had mine for about 3 years and it never fit quite right. i always had a place at the back that would never seal to the filter... i liked the way it looked alot, when it cracked along the back i should have ordered a new one instead of the TSP lid

Installing was a PITA. That plastic does not want to flex. All you have to do is get it on the MAF, push the tabs down startign from far left moving to the right and slid it in. Man does it really seal to the lower box..

fitment is quite snug during install/removal, but i would hardly call it a problem. i'm very happy with mine.
