Default Idle at 1500- 1600 RPM's help!

When I first start the car It Idles around 800-850 RPM's. After driving for a while I come up to a stop light push in th cluth and the tach jumps to 2k RPM really fast then settles in at 1500-1600 RPM. You guys have any suggestions? I do have an SES light on but its always on after my Header install I never had the Air & EGR and O2's tuned out.

Any ideas are appreciated.

James

if you find why share !

had the same thing only my car has a tr224 114 and had this problem regularly... took it to a shop and what I understood from my friend that took it is that they changed the tps and maybe the iac and when I asked the guy what it happened again when I came back to pick it up from the second time he said he tunes the tps. not performance tuning or a dyno shop just said tuned the tps what ever that means ..... now it rarely happens...and the same dies specially in traffic with the a/c on.... that`s why I`d like to know what yours will be to chack it also.

ya my guess would be a small vac. leak. Best thing to do is check around the intake bc thats where most of the vacuum line will go to. Then maybe the brake booster line has come loose a lil and causing the idle to move up.
Have you messed with the idle on the TB?

I found the leak today! It was a dry rotted rubber hose grommet from the PCV valve. Here are some pictures. The pictures were taken after i removed the dry rotted piece. It was so hard to find because it had cracked on the bottom of the hose and I could not see it and could barely hear it.
